It could be low electrolytes, intermittent claudication, diabetic neuropathy, etc. Tell us whether it hurts more when you hang your legs down over the side of the bed and sit up, whether it hurts more lying down, whether it hurts more when you walk a bit. It could be dehydration. Are you drinking 2 quarts of water daily? Susie

Your awareness of how and when the pain occurs will help you and your doctor diagnose it. You can also find plenty of info on the internet. Guest guest
As usual, I'm way behind on emails. Another cause of leg pain is lymphedema, which, according to literature from my hubby's Dr's office is: " ...an accumulation of protein enriched fluid in a limb or body part...........(it) can be a congenital condition, or can result from venous insuffiencies, typically in the legs. Once it develops, lymphedema is a lifelong, but manageable, condition. " Since my husband has had phlebitis for years, his worsening leg pain was not taken seriously by his PCP or endo. It was his podiatrist who correctly dxed this condition and is managing his condition. Wrapping, compression hosiery and physical therapy are all therapies that help control this condition.
