Guest guest
I have had 4 PSA tests in the last seven months. The results are all over the map. The urologist has no idea as to the cause. Month PSA Free PSA % Free PSA Dec '07 8.11 0.83 10.0 Jan '08 2.75 0.8 30.0 May '08 12.82 not measured June '08 4.8 0.8 17.0 The urologist now tells me a free PSA of.8 always means cancer. I may have misunderstood him over the phone since the Free number has always been 0.8 and he didn't raise any alarms. He wants to schedule a biopsy based on the last PSA. I think that its probably a good idea, but I wonder why he's suddenly more urgent. Also, we don't know what true PSA is. I have Parkinson;s Disease and heart problems and have very strong gas rumbling through me most of the time. I think the gas is pressing on the prostate and stimulating it, but the urologist doesn't think so. The first test was done at one lab, the next two at another and the last one at yet a third lab. Two years go I had a PSA of 2.75. Any ideas are welcomed I have another question, this urologist was recomended by five prostate cancer survivors as being very good, but I don't have a feeling of good rapport. Should I look for a doctor I feel more comfortable with. There is also a problem in that he does his biopsies in another community and travel will be very difficult due to Parkinson's. Thanks for any ideas jazu
