Any caregivers from the Ohio or the NE Ohio area? I have been sniffing around to

determine how realistic a support group just for Lewy might fare without much

success. At least perhaps an informal gathering from time to time to swap yarns

or drink coffee.

I started with Kathy's geriatrician, who has an interest in dementia's, since he

made her Dx on the first try. He has 7 LBD patients, including Kathy, but the

other 6 are currently reside in SNFs.

We have a local AD support group, but my concern is that Lewy might be an after

thought and the tail would wag the doc. Has anyone had worked in concert with

local AD groups?

Appreciate any feedback.  Seems between digging out from winter blahs, the

holidays, our aide and her asthma, things have been a bit hit and miss to start

off the New Year.

Thank you

>Hi Jan- I see you mentioned the Caregivers Gatherings. Actually I organized

both Caregiver Gatherings. First one was in August 2003 in LaCrosse, WI. Next

was also in the month of August 2008 in Ann Arbor, MI. I had met other

caregivers from here in Iowa, and one in Minnesota, and I wanted others to have

the opportunity to meet with others who really knew what we were going through

or had gone through. There are photo's from both gatherings in the

LBDcaregivers website. So nice seeing you posting Jan. Big hugs- S -
