Gabi's bread doesn't have to be made in a bread maker.

www.lowcarbluxury.com has instructions for how to make it without a

bread maker.

I can't help with your question about soy isolate vs powder. Usually

recipes specify which one you need. As far as the wheat gluten the

kind recommended by Gabi (see the bread recipe at lowcarbluxury.com)

is the lowest in carbs as far as I know.

It means that you should be able to remain in ketosis after eating a serving

of their bread.

Just be forewarned - bread (even the low carb stuff) can be addictive -

we've heard the sad tales before of listees consuming way more than a

portion of low carb bread at a sitting and getting off track. Have you

tried the Atkins rolls? They are a great holder for sandwich stuff and if

you do eat the whole batch, you're still under 5 carbs total ;)

I think I did an AOLsearch for "Doctor profiles" A lot of sites came up. some had nothing to do with individual profiles. I just tried it again and it wouldn't come up. Sorry, I just play around until I find what I'm looking for

and I don't usually remember how I got there:)

Hi Donna

I have taken verapamil before and it is a blood pressure medicine. Could not take it though as they found out I am allergic to it. Sorry I could not be more of a help to you

Dorothy

-- Question

I have a question about a medication called Verapamil. My neurologist prescribed this to take on a daily basis to try and help with my headaches. He prescribed this back in early December but after reading about it on the internet, I was afraid to add it to my growing list of meds.

Do any of you take this med and can you tell me anything about it? Hi, I'm the other Laurel and haven't been on for awhile. My friend's dad has the aggressive type of prostate cancer. He had radiation but his PSA is extremely high and they have given him only a few more months. I told her I'd ask all of you if his doctors have missed anything. They refused to operate when they found out he had cancer telling him it would spread even faster if they did so that is why he opted for the radiation. He is going to Cleveland Clinic which is a first rate hospital but she just wanted to be sure that nothing more could be done. Thanks for any comments I can share with her.

What is his medical history with the disease? What are his statistics? What have them given him besides radiation? ADT? Chemo? HD/HC?

Thank you, Alan. I don't want to give my friend any false hope either so I appreciate your straight-forward honest answer. Yes, I think they have come to terms unless a miracle occurs and that all their plans are in order. It's a harsh disease when it's the aggressive kind and so many people think of it as the much slower moving kind. Thanks again.

I'm wondering, too.

I most urgently recommend consultation with a genuine cancer specialist,

a medical oncologist, preferably one who is well-experienced in

treatment of PCa.

Some can be found via this portal on the encyclopedic website of the

Prostate Cancer Research Institute (PCRI):

Radiation is NOT the last resort!
