Hi Everyone,

My name is Heidi and I'm from Mass. I'm 44, (45 on Saturday!), but

hey, still 44! In July I was diagnosed with zero factor RA. It is in

my hands mostly, particularly my right hand index finger. I am right

handed. I have had a few episodes of barely being able to get out of

bed. Fortunately, they are not the norm. My knees are starting to

bother me, but my feet are fine, elbows ok, mostly just my hands.

What I've noticed the most is that my immune system has gone to pot.

Since early December, I've had 3 colds. Right now I've been out of

work since Thursday and will not be going in this week at all. I

have the flu/bronchitis. The RA meds I take are methotrexate (6 pills

1 day a week) hydrochloroquine 2 pills 1 x a day, folic acid 1 x day,

and tramadol as needed. I have had 2 shots to my knuckle, 1 in

November and 1 in February. I'd love to hear about your experiences

with this. I'm frustrated because prior to this new adventure, I get

my flu shot every year, and havent had it for over 10 years. As for

bronchitis, I havent had it since being a kid. Now at work, if

someone shows up with a cold, I'm done no matter how hard I try to

stay away from them. Also, work bought me the ergonomic keyboard

which is great for me. My Dr. wants me to park close by, but work

hasn't honored that yet. He wrote a letter for me for work to

explain potential absences while in " active status " . I really like

him as he is very pro-active in trying to prevent any progression.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

Heidi
