ya i know what you mean about gaining weight on pred. went back to dr

yesterday and she changed my meds took me off pred thank god upped my mtx to 8

pills a week and depending on my xrays might be starting enbrel, I gained a lot

of weight on the pred face kept swelling up looked like a bullfrog

At least for ME, prednisone makes me gain weight - I seem to eat like a horse if

I am taking it. And not just that - it makes me into a real WITCH!!!!

You, me and my middle daughter!!! OHHH man is a BIG WITCH on

prednisone! She has severe asthma and it is not a pretty picture when she is

on it at all !!! LOL OH yeah, weight gain too !

My problem is that I am in pain and I just don't move as much, and therefore

have problem losing or maintaining weight. I too am on 4 mg. When I was

feeling better I went on a modest diet and was able to lose 60 pounds (165 down

to 107)...and I was on 10mg then.

Prednisone can cause some issues. You state that your stomach is big, but

that is relative. If you look 5 months pregnant then you need to explore what

is causing the problem, it probably isn't prednisone. I would be happy with a

little gut is I could just get rid of the moon face! UGH!

I was on predisone for about 6 mo when the doctors couldn't figure out

what was wrong w/ me. They thought it was either lupus or RA.

Anyways, I gained about 50lbs in that time frame and I have been

unable to loose that weight since (that was 7 years ago). It's not

just you. I had other side effects of moodiness and insomina during

that peroid.
