hi

I had arthroscopic knee surgery in Dec. 2006 for a torn

meniscus...and while doing that, the orthopedic

surgeon determined that I also needed a synovectomy ! So, he did

both and the results have so far been

excellent :) Two days of crutches, two weeks of a limp and lots of

exercising...that surprised me....it really

was necessary to faithfully do the exercises recommended by the

physical therapist for several months to

feel I had full strength back in my knee/leg...but, of course, I had

limped for six months beforehand while

the docs decided if my meniscus was torn :) So, return to full

strength took longer than it does for many folks !

I know the open surgery has longer recovery...but, you should still

anticipate great results :) I have full flexion

and extension and no swelling...and it has been 15 months :)

good luck
