Dear yn,

I'm sorry to read about your dad's passing. Robin Riddle is usually the person

who knows all about brain donation.

My deepest condolences and wishes for strength in the days ahead.

was this site that I heard about research to study LBD in the brain after death.

Does anyone have info on that?

Hi all,

I know I have not been on here for the past year...Taking care of my folk plus a

brand new niece has made it difficult to connect here, but i wanted to let you

know, my Dad passed away suddenly while he was getting dialysis. I think it was

this site that I heard about research to study LBD in the brain after death.

Does anyone have info on that?

I havent yet been able to process this as i am the main caregiver and have been

fielding calls fr the past few hours... Im not even sure who i need to

contact.... The family is getting together to discuss what arrangements should

be done

if anyone would like to give advice on the process... so i dont miss anything...

i'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

Thanks

yn,

My condolences on your loss.

I don't know anyone that can help families make brain donation arrangements once

death has occurred with a few exceptions. If by chance you live in the San

Francisco Bay Area (which is where I live), I can help you. If by any chance

you happen to live in Florida, the funeral home should know about the Florida

Brain Bank, and that would be worth a phone call to see if they can help. And

there's one guy in the Seattle area that might do a brain autopsy (brain is

destroyed after autopsy). If your father has been a regular patient at a major

medical institution, you can call the neurologist to see if the institution has

a brain donation program or provides a brain autopsy (in the latter, the brain

is destroyed after autopsy).

Sorry,

Robin
