Guest guest
Anti depressants are c ertainly worth a trial. You are experiencing a slew of issues simultaneously. I have taken them in the past and was astonished at how effective they were. karpeidm <bschnellenberger@...> wrote: I went to my GP this week (I'm still waiting for March 6th to see the rheumatologist....and I have another problem. I have no idea if this is related to anything with EBV or RA. Actually my physician is stumped as well. I have sort of an eczema around the outside of my nipple. My breasts are extremelly sore/sensitive, however, no discharge. Now I have to wait another month to see an infectious disease doctor. He thinks it's a fungus! Never had this until 10 days ago. Is this something related to EBV or RA? I have taken off this month (JAN) as sick from work..I have been struggling for two months trying to work and not know what is wrong with me. Plus my father died two months ago and just had to force my mother into a nursing home who has now disowned me. So...as they say....when it rains it pours! I am glad to find this group to ask questions. I appreciate 's research albeit it's over my head most of the time. I have tried to read everything I can about RA but this unless you are a clinician, it's difficult to interpret. I do have one more question, my doctor wants me to go on antidepressants. Do most of you take this as well? Thanks for your help. Betts in VA Raniolo
Guest guest
Even without RA or EBV, funky fungus happens. We have tons of fungus and bacteria on our skin at all times. Sometimes, the pH in a certain area is off, and creates just the right environment for fungus to grow. This can happen anywhere on the body, not just warm, dark areas, though we all know of those infections - athlete's foot, jock itch, vaginitis. The area will probably be cultured, so the right med can be used. Stress can throw off pH, and make us more vulnerable for bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Did you ever do one of those questionaires for major stressors in life? You've got so many right now - death of a family member, major change in living arrangements for another, and dealing with a life altering illness. Taking off January sounds like a great idea - and, I also think, like others, that an antidepressant will help. The SSRI's like Prozac or Zoloft, aren't 'uppers', but deal with the chemical imbalance that exists with depression. It can take the edge off the depression, and give you the strength to process the grief. Doesn't matter if the depression is cause by an inherent balance, or from situational stressors. Guest guest
I have been on every antidepressant known to man... LOL I couldn't imagine life without them! I currently take 60 mg of Cymbalta a day and it is working well. I had the most luck with Effexor XR but one day it just stopped working!!!! Best of luck to you. It sounds like you are going through a really rough time right now. Things can only get better. ©x© Kami ©x© [ ] Another weird sympton...newly diagnosed I do have one more question, my doctor wants me to go on antidepressants. Do most of you take this as well? Guest guest
Thanks Jocelyn I have been trying a few days a couple of weeks ago to clean my mother(father's) house which they have lived there for 50 years and never threw anything away...it's horrible. I have decided since my immune system is now at ground zero I probably shouldn't be working in an environment that is filled with dust, mold everywhere, mice and roaches. So I have probably inadvertently picked up some funky fungus from doing this. So...good advice...thanks again. Now hiring a professional to do the job. I don't need anymore health problems now..I have enough Betts jdurren <j.durrenberger@...> wrote: Even without RA or EBV, funky fungus happens.
