Here is a link to a newly-published study:

Klotz L, et al., " The efficacy and safety of degarelix: a 12-month,

comparative, randomized, open-label, parallel-group phase III study in

patients with prostate cancer. " BJU Int. 2008 Dec;102(11):1531-8.

The last couple of sentences: " Its immediate onset of action achieves

a more rapid suppression of testosterone and PSA than leuprolide.

Furthermore, there is no need for antiandrogen supplements to prevent

the possibility of clinical 'flare'. "

See Pub Med, a service of the US National Library of Medicine, at

www.pubmed.gov

and search on Pub Med ID 19035858

The US FDA has approved the drug.
