Five yrs ago I finnally had suffered with itching and bowel probs enough that I changed my insurance back to traditional BC/BS and insisted that I be referred to the U of M liver clinic. There I found that I have had PSC & uc all that time. After being put on Pentasa, Rifampin and actigall my UC got under control and my itching abated to a tolerable level. I hesitated to post because I have had these things for so long and am not having near the problems a lot of you are. I have now reached the point of being on the transplant list since last July. I thought I knew quite a bit about PSC and UC but this group puts me to shame for knowledge. I have really appreciated the things that I have picked up here.
