One school of thought is that 120 is the top number before becoming borterline diabetic. Bring your weight down if nec and watch what you are eating and you should overcome what other have. Guest guest
Hi brother Cy, I really don't eat much ice cream. Wall Mart has out a new low crab and sugar ice cream and it is very good. Also Brayers has a low crab low sugar ice cream. And that is what I buy for Del. Won't it be nice when we live in a place where we won't have to count crabs? Guest guest
I have never heard of a sugar-free twinkie. I used to be a twinkie junkie and now if they were sugar free I probably would stay away from them, as well as some other foods which seem to call me to continue eating more. I think we all have to remember what foods can get us in trouble and stay away from them, as this really is serious business. I just got a report from someone in my family tonight about a mother dying of diabetes. the daughter said she wished that she had exercised more and been more careful with the diet. Well, it's a sober warning to all of us, which I don't think cna hurt from time to time. It makes me want tocry, but all I can do is let it not happen to me. Vicki " For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. Guest guest
Vicki, this thing about Twinkles was a joke from Cy to me. He was kidding me about eating twinkles. In the first place I do not like twinkles and do not buy them for me or my husband who is a diabetic. I hope this puts to rest that I do not eat or buy twinkles. Guest guest
Hi Vicky, Oh you are doing so great. When Del was diagnosed with Diabetes about ten years ago, it really set us back a it. I had to really learn how to cook again. But after awhile it becomes second nature. It sounds like your doctor wants to work with you. I am sure there are many web sites that can help you and Del and other diabetes. When my in laws had diabetes there were no such things as groups and web sites. There doctor was the only contact they had. At least the diabetic world has come a long ways in making it easier to be a diabetic. See you Saturday. Guest guest
Welcome Kathleen, I'm also in California, but probably lots more north than you It makes no difference in that this group reaches out to people like us everywhere. I'm 56 and its never too late to 'get smart(er?)' and I credit this group with my being able to 'get' what IE I have going from me too. Its a simple equation - you get out of it what you put into it. Hope to read more of your posts too. ehugs, Katcha > > hi > I just joined, I think your group is right on target.
