Guest guest
I've had a similar problem, on the right side. I could never pinpoint anything that caused it. My Dr. theorized it to be inflammation in the ribcage - even had a long name for it. We did an ultrasound, & that was all that showed up. I don't remember the name he used, just stressed to continue my regiman of medicines. Petry <mapetry0177@...> wrote: I hope some can help. I have had a pain that is kind of like a spasm right under my left brest. I have had it three times now. It happens when I get in a car. I dan't know if it is due to twisting or what. I had never had this happen before and I was wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them. It is so scary when it happens. I feel like I could pass out. I was worried it could be a blood clot due to being unable to do much because of the RA. When it happens I have to stretch (arch my back) till it goes away. It only happens on the left side. Hope you have answers. Thanks. LINDA

The above sounds like costochronditis....I have a severe attack of it several months before my more classical RA symptoms started. At the time I was told it was a viral infection of those joints, but my rheummy says it was most likely an RA attack. Felt a lot the way heart attacks are supposed to - gripping pressure, heavy weight. Except the pain did not move or radiate. Not pleasant at all. I guess some RA patients get this regularly. That must be hell!
Guest guest
's reply below my message is exactly right! I just couldn't remember the name. It seems that since my RA dx, any pain anywhere turns out to be Rheumatoid. The ribcage pain is awful. Makes it hard to do much of anything. goodbead40 <goodbead40@...> wrote: > > I've had a similar problem, on the right side. I could never pinpoint anything that caused it. Guest guest
Hi, I just got dx'd with costochondritis. I have RA, and spent 7 days at home from work with flu and bronchitis.? One night I couldn't breathe without sharp pains and one was so bad it hurt down to my hand.? Off I went to the ER. They knew I had RA but no connection was made.? I sent home on vicodin (itchy beast medicine) and was told to just rest.? That is was from coughing so much.? I cannot imagine getting this often. Ouch! Guest guest
I have something similar with my FMS called Tietzie syndrome that my cardiologist diagnosed a few years ago. I suffer from bouts of it quite a bit, yet at times, don't notice it as much. In really bad flares though, it does feel like its such an effort to even breathe. --- sposy@... wrote: > Hi, > > I just got dx'd with costochondritis. Guest guest
Yeah, I have it too. What is realllllllly unnecessary is that it flares up whenever I have a cold with a cough. It feels like being kicked when you are already down and out! > > > > I've had a similar problem, on the right side. I could never pinpoint > anything that caused it.
