Guest guest
Hi Everyone, It has been a while since I last posted. Mum is doing well in her nursing home. She can still communicate, but is losing words by the day and struggles to get her thoughts out. She has been put on a pureed diet as she is beginning to have swallowing problems. And she needs assistance moving now. But she still enjoys her outings with my sister and myself. We each see mum on a different day of the week so she gets more opportunity for some out time. Her " Crew " is still with her but have been more quiet over the last year. But so has mum. She no longer really knows who we are and has no recollection of having had me at all. Her memory seems to stop after my sister was about 5. That is a tough one for me to handle. But it is what it is. All in all, as long as mum is peaceful, not afraid (that was the worst stage) and is happy in her own little world, that is all we can ask for. Her physical health is as good as someone her age and with dementia can be. She will be 89 this year! Once again I wish to thank all the members for their support, caring, knowledge, and humour. You all made such a difference in how we look at this. Thank you, thank you thank you! <
