Our President Ms Shabana Patel has received Lux sahyadri Hirkani Puraskar 2006.

The award function was telecast on 23rd December 2006 on Sahyadri National

Network Her Brief history.

Brief Background

Ms. Shabana Patel have done excellent work to improve quality of life of people

living with HIV (PLHIV) since 8 years. She is the president of NMP+, A CBO

formed in 2001 by positive people and run by positive people. Its work in 22

districts of Maharashtra and its affiliated to INP+.

Ms. Shabana Patel's Massage after received award was:

She express thanks to her parents and said that is great achievements of HIV

positive people network.

We are not different, we are not problem but we are the solution. Society wants

to change their attitude towards positive people. They want support, love, and

acceptance from society. She also gaven a message to youth people because they

are responsible towards family, society they have great decision-making power.

Once they accept HIV positive person, the current & future situation will become

very positive for HIV positive person. All positive people wants to come

together and join Network, our unity makes a positive change in society. Lastly

express thanks to sahyadri, my colleagues, well-wishers And Positive People

Network.

Ms Shabana and NMP's future plan is to help affected and infected young children

of positive people.
