Guest guest
I haven't had the ability to post but have been reading a lot and have a question. Before my question I should give brief background. My Dad has been given diagnosis of DLB. He declined terribly quickly and only 10 days ago we thought it might be soon he would be leaving us. He could not walk, he couldn't hold himself upright on the bed even holding the rail. His swallowing was worse and he was hospitalized for pnemonia for the 2nd time in 4 months. He couldn't transfer without complete help, was sleeping a lot, speaking was difficult and hard to understand. His depth perception was off and mentally he was truely failing. A week ago he said he felt a change in his head and has made a miraculous change. His voice is normal and clear annunciation. He is WALKING almost unaided by walker, his thought process is clearer, his face looks round open and expressive .... I love my father very much but I am completely baffled. We were told of the cycles of DLB but my impression was it would be some better some worse but not an 85% turn around. Has anyone else experienced this? I send my heartfelt wishes to those who have lost love ones and those who are having difficulty. Take care all, Daughter to Dad DLB dx May 2012
