Guest guest
Dear FORUM, I do not agree with Dr. Umesh Sankaran's statement on 2nd line of ARV treatment, that he " ..think the urgency of need for second line ART as concerned by INP+ is clinically not evidence based " . His statement is not in the best interest of the people living with HIV/AIDS. Most of the Doctors in kerala is not interested in the filed HIV/AIDS treatment, and they are not intrested to participate in any study and research related with ART and its related treatment. So they can not understand and difficulties faced by the PLHA who taking the ART regularly. I am agree with first we make adequate medicine in first line medicine and also it is very important to provide the 2nd line medicine who ever need. I agree with Dr. Umesh on adherence part. In Kerala the SACS and ART centeres are not much interested to talk on adherence issues. So we think we (PLHAS) have a main role in Adherence counselling. ph Mathew, State Treatment Education Officer, Pact Community REACH Project. CPK+ Plus, Kerala, email: cpkplus@...., anil_josep@...
