Guest guest
Found this, don't know if it would help. To get the most benefit from the pills, take them with vitamin C (ascorbic acid) pills or orange juice. Vitamin C helps your body absorb more iron. In a message dated 3/25/2008 2:38:30 P.M. Guest guest
I always take them with food and that seems to help some. It is still a constant battle. Like we need MORE battles!!! Guest guest
Hey, The ones I take are called Slow FE (Slow release iron) & it states on the box that there are 60% fewer incidence of GI side effects when compared to immediate release iron tablets. The box doesn't say one way or the other about to eat or not to eat but I had asked my pharmacist at the time the doctor told me to start taking them and she told me that it didn't matter. D. Guest guest
I'll write this down. The OB I go to gave me samples of this but it does say enhanced GI tolerability...oh yeah. Also easy to swallow. According to who? They are huge honkers. Guest guest
Now I did just have to get mine over the counter and because I already have a ton of stomach issues, my doc recommended these. It's worth asking about. The pharmacist told me - iron pills are iron pills as long as you take them as directed. I mean, they aren't doctors, but I think they know a little something! Good luck! D. Guest guest
See if OJ works for you, that would be great 'cause it's good for you too! I can't drink it - too much acid. It's just not worth being uncomfortable though so don't delay too much in calling your doc's office. You aren't the only one on earth that iron pills bother so I am very sure they have heard it before and can make recommendations. Good Luck and let me know what they say and/or how you do! Guest guest
Okay I did all that I was supposed to and it worked o.k. I was kind of burpy but whatever... Just feel so blah with the anemia. I have a feeling I will have to go in for a hysterectomy soon. <ltdavis_jrdavis@...> wrote: See if OJ works for you, that would be great 'cause it's good for you too!
