I note from reading the posts that young women still planning further

pregnancies are coping with Fibroids and the effect they can have on

this. I suffered from heavy bleeding since my periods started at age

12, so this included my teenage years and early adult. I am the

mother of a handi-capped son, so when my Fibroids were finally

diagnosed at age 45, the first question I asked the Gyny doc was how

long had they been there. His reply was that it was difficult to

say. I also asked him if indeed it was possible to have a child when

you had Fibroids. I was of course thinking along the lines that a

Fibroid could have damaged my son in the womb.

My son suffers from a little known Syndrome called " Sturge Weber " and

when I put this question to their foundation they said they did not

think so. But surely if a Fibroid can cause a miscarraige then it

could also cause damage to the unborn child?

I have two sons and the first one was born without handi-cap when I

was 19 and the second when I was 21.

Anyone have any knowledge or advice?

Kate.
