Guest guest
I have had RA for 20 years. For the last 1 1/2 years I have tender spots when I touch parts of my body. My MD doesn't seem concerned - has anyone else experienced this? I have, in my hands in certain places, I just thought it was part of the RA Tammie In a message dated 1/14/2008 4:41:00 P.M. Guest guest
Have you had a rheumatologist exam you for Fibromyalgia or Myofascia Pain Syndrome? There are 16 tender points/trigger points and if you have so many with other symptoms it could be a factor. --- shc220 <phyliss.cole@...> wrote: > I have had RA for 20 years. Guest guest
Hi My name is Sue and I am from New York city.I have been complaining about my joints for about a year now and went to a rheumatologist last year who said I had nothing wrong. All my lab results were good. But recently I had my rutine blood work done and my doctor told me I had to see a rheumatologist as soon as possible.I am scared to death since I have two autistic kids who depend on me.I know you are not doctors but I would really appreciate your oppinions. My unusual lab results showed Anion gap low A/G ratio calc low Mono# high Baso# low Rheumat factor 20.8 high My urine test also suggests inflamation I have no pain but all my joints in my fingers, toes, knees, wrist, ribs hurt.I also have tremor in my hands and I get tired easily.I feel like my arms are tight. Is this RA? can RA be with no pain ? thanks in advance Sue

There is a tremor but no pain. Did they discuss with you the possibility? I assume they ruled this out, also other neurological diseases? Guest guest
Hi, Sue Can I ask a silly question? If your joints hurt, isn't that pain? Pain (hurting joints) especially in the hands and feet are a early indicator of RA. If your regular GP saw an slight increase in your RA factor, coupled with the joint pain, stiffness(that's the tightness in your arm), and fatique (that is that tired felling you are getting). He is being a great doctor for you, and I would take his suggestion. If you can I would go to a different Rheumy that the first one you saw. You also want to be able to tell a Rheumy if you have stiffness in the morning and how long it lasts. Do you know if your doctor also ran a SED rate or CRP blood tests to measure for inflammation? Part of being dx'ed is being a good patient and learning the names of things-RA, just like you did with your boys and autism. Getting a early dx and early treatment is important, and don't worry, you will be around for your boys. And to answer your question about pain. Yes, you can still have RA with no pain. RA can be a tricky thing to judge, inflammation can cause a great amount of pain, no pain at all, or just the occasional tinge of hurting finger joints. Everyone experiences RA differently. My hope for you is that if this is RA, you get treated early and go in to a permanent remission. > > My unusual lab results showed > > Anion gap low > A/G ratio calc low > Mono# high > Baso# low > Rheumat factor 20.8 high > > My urine test also suggests inflamation > > I have no pain but all my joints in my fingers, toes, knees, wrist, ribs > hurt.I also have tremor in my hands and I get tired easily.I feel > like my arms are tight. > Is this RA? can RA be with no pain ? > > thanks in advance > Sue >

Guest guest
Hi Thanks for replying.I guess I first need to learn how to express myself. What I meant was my joints hurt if I touch them or use them, like picking up a plate with one hand, carrying a medium weight shopping bag, opening a jar.. .if I dont move or use those joints I feel nothing.I have no swelling of the joints and the stiffness (tightness in my arms) is there all the time no matter it is morning or night have you ever heard about tremor with Ra? I hope I didnt misunderstand you when you said there is a slight possibility of permanent remission with early treatment.I didnt know that. And I am happy to learn that thanks again sue > > > Hi, Sue > > Can I ask a silly question? Guest guest
Hi, I agree with . I had a tremor and cramping caused by low B6 levels. Inflammation can cause this problem. I think I had RA for years with no pain so yes, it could be RA. > > Hi > > Thanks for replying.I guess I first need to learn how to express > myself. What I meant was my joints hurt if I touch them or use them, > like picking up a plate with one hand, carrying a medium weight > shopping bag, opening a jar.. .if I dont move or use those joints I > feel nothing.I have no swelling of the joints and the stiffness > (tightness in my arms) is there all the time no matter it is morning > or night > > have you ever heard about tremor with Ra? > > I hope I didnt misunderstand you when you said there is a slight > possibility of permanent remission with early treatment.I didnt know > that. And I am happy to learn that > > thanks again > sue > > > > > > > > > > Hi, Sue > > > > Can I ask a silly question?
