Guest guest
Hi. My name is Cheri. Im 36, married, with 5 kids. Two yrs. ago I was diagnosed with Graves disease. Had RAI and am now on synthroid. Now, over the summer is when this pain started. So, I am aeeing a rhumatologist. She is pretty sure I have RA. I know today I called and asked for a shot, and when I went in I told the nurse that I was getting frustrated. Does it take this long (3-4 months) to figure out whats wrong? My joints hurt. My shoulders feel (right side) like they are burning. Its in all my joints. The nurse said my seritonin (think thats what she said) lever was 22 2 wks ago, but that doesnt mean its not 100 today. The doc. put me on Plaqunil last week, and it hurts my belly. I just dont understand all this and whats going on. I know its an autoimmune disease, as is Graves. I just want to for find out whats wrong and treat it, I know its not curable. Hurts so bad to type this right now, yes, I have carpel tunnel too. Thank you......-Cheri
Guest guest
Wow, you have your hands full. I had to try several drugs before I found something I didnt bother me either with my stomach or giving me hives. Right now I am on MTX injections, Arava and prednisone. Once or twice my liver levels have been elevated but they came back down. Hope that is the case with you. Joy cherisholes <cherisholes@...> wrote: Hi. My name is Cheri. Im 36, married, with 5 kids. Guest guest
Cheri, CT and joint pain are also associated with still being hypo. Synthroid is also know for joint pain. Sorry guys..I know too many people that where on synthroid and their joint pain went away when they switched to Armour thyroid or other natural thyroid hormone. I'm not saying that you couldn't have RA, it is very possible. But please review a symptoms check list for hypothyroidism. You might need an adjustment in the amount of Synthroid you are getting or you might need T3 added to the mix. Please always get copies of your thyroid labs. They should be checking not just TSH but FreeT4 and FreeT3 as well. The Free is the unbound hormone in your blood stream for your body to use. Too many doctors just say " oh your in range so you should be fine " . You are not a lab number, if you still have hypo symptoms and you are not over the Free ranges, then there is room to adjust your medication. If you have hypo symptoms, you should talk to your doctor and not let him blow you off. http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles.htm Kate G Hashi's AS At 01:41 AM 1/23/2008, you wrote: > Hi.
