Hi everyone:

I wanted to let you all know that has completed his 45 day course

of IMRT with Calypso. Overall, this was the best choice for him. He had

few side effects. There was the pressure and burning which was stemmed

through medication (Uroxatral). Tweaks in his diet improved the

diarrhea problems. The staff couldn't have been more sensitive,

professional or kind. We met with the clinical nurse and the doctor for

final instructions and discharge. He is to continue with the Uroxatral

for at least the next several weeks. returns in six weeks for his

first PSA and then again in 4 months. The doctor warned that with this

treatment, the PSA comes down gradually and may even " bounce " . There

may or may not be some rectal bleeding. If that happens, he is to call

and suppositories will be prescribed. I will update you when we have

more information.

I can't begin to say how grateful we are to have found this support

group. All the insights and updated information has gotten us through a

difficult time in our lives.

Bless you and thank you all. We hope each and every one of you has the

most wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Hi ,

Glad everything went well for and hope it continues. Tomorrow is 3 weeks since I finished IGRT. Everything seems back to normal and any residual tiredness is just about gone and I'm sure will feel 100% in a similar timescale. I have a follow up consult with my Doctora tomorrow but I haven't got anything of note to tell her and there will be no tests as it's too early. Six weeks seems early to me for a PSA test, my first isn't until February but it can't do any harmto get an early indication though I've been told not to read too much into the first test whichever way it goes.

Best of health to you both,

Malaga, Spain
