,

I currently take plaquenil for my RA/fibro. I take 200 mg twice a

day. I don't take my meds at the same time everyday, but I have not

noticed a huge difference if I miss a dose by a few hours. Then again,

I have been on plaquenil for a few years not. Since you don't see your

doctor until next month, I would try giving them a call. Most doctors

will give you a call back in 24hrs.

Maybe your body has become immune to that dosage and it needs to be

higher,or you need to try another medication. Your rheumatologist is

the best person to answer those questions for you. I have had RA for

the past 7 years and it took some trial and error before I found the

right medications that work right for me. Give your doctor a

call...hope this helps. Talk to you later.

My diagnosis is viral polyarthritis - I started Plaquenil 100mg twice a

day 4 months ago, and did get significant relief, though I still have

pain. I find if I am late with the morning doe, I notice the pain. If

I forget a dose, I notice the pain about 6 horus later, and it takes a

few days for it to settle at the typical level.

Hi !

Do you take any other DMARDS with your Plaquenil? I

was on Plaquenil for over a year and half and then we

had to add Sulfasalazine to the medications. My

doctor likes to start with one to see how it works and

get the dosage right. That way they can monitor my

side effects and efficiency of the drug. If I miss

any doses I get symptoms. I had to stop the

Sulfasalazine for 3 months due to bronchitis and I

could not even walk or get out of bed to stand!

I have been on plaquinil for quite a while, one day I forgot to take

it on that morning, I went grocery shopping and by noon I was in

extreme pain. I make sure I don't forget anymore!
