Guest guest
Hi everyone! I think soon I will be able to create yet another chart for our use---it will be the " basics " on each of the A list docs--- how many AS surgeries done, type of barrier used, etc... I just spoke to Dr. Isaacson on the phone. He has the attitude that the surgeon does the job, and that it is up to the body to decide if it wants to heal or regrow adhesions. He said AS surgery is pretty straightforward if you have a good surgeon. The other thing is that he doesn't use a barrier--no balloon, IUD.....he says they have not been proven to work, and that they are just another source of possible infection, not to mention inflammatory response, which is something we really want to avoid. HMMMMM! Yet another twist in the story. He too has seen Valle operate and although he didn't have anything BAD to say about him, he didn't agree with me that he is the BEST in treating AS. Dr. Olive has given very high recommendations to Isaacson as " one of the best hysteroscopists on the east coast. " Does anyone know who has seen Isaacson? Am I anal retentive or what? I can't make a decision to save my life right now. The only thing I have decided is that I think Berger is probably OUT. So for me it's down to Valle, Isaacson, or possibly Cohen. I think I need to just take a pill for a week until my HSG--then deal with it. Well, today is the day I should have gotten a period, actually yesterday, so now I think I may be scarred closed to boot. I take my BBT every day just so the docs, if they feel so inclined, could look at my chart and see that I ovulate, and have normal temp. cycles. My temp. is back down as of yest., so I'm pretty sure there will be no blood this month. Yes, I took a preg. test to be sure--actually it seemed like just to kid myself. More prayers to you all! Guest guest
- you sound like me a few months ago- and let me warn you- you'll burn out at this pace- try to relax and wait to see what happens with the HSG!!!!! you have to find a comfort level- I went with Dr Palter because I couldn't deal with going out of town- leaving my DD and being somewhere "foreign" trying to recuperate! You have to decide what's the best for your situation- and look at teh whole picture- finances- recovering at home or a hotel etc. As far as the balloon- I didn't have one- and now I may be facing another procedure that will involve a balloon- but honestly- I understand teh reason not to use the balloon- and If it works out for me (and I get a period this week GOD willing!) I'm glad I didn't have a balloon- if it doesn't I'm in the minority for the type of adhesions I had- and I don't (really) blame my Dr for not using one. I think you just need to make a decision and find peace with that- and give yourself a break for a while- I'm at the breaking point- and I wish I'd saved some of that emotional energy for this point!!! "I know God won't give me anything I can't handle, I just wish he didn't trust me so much" -Mother , Mike, Brenna (VSD, PS- open heart surgery 1/29/98--- typical 3 1/2YO- YIPES!), Baby Angel born too early 11/7/00, and Riley and Snoozer the dogs Join us again next year in remembering the millions of people affected by CHD on 2/14/2002: "A Day for Hearts: Congenital Heart Defects Awareness Day!" Guest guest
--thanks! No **** about burning out---I am so overtired that I can't sleep now. I was supposed to get a "spotting" (alias, period) two days ago, and I check every hour and NOTHING! What the **** does THAT mean???? My scarring is just worsening??? I know I didn't get pg. b/c my BBT is back way down to preov. level as of last two days. Plus, took Pg. test and -. Now I'm afraid I may be having another missed abortion, b/c pg. test was - for a week past when it should have shown with that. I think I am going to break. Please keep me posted about your progress. Actually Palter is relatively close to me, being in VA. Something's got to give here. I just had to bring one of my dogs in to the vet b/c he wouldn't stand up when he got up this a.m. We lost another of our dogs in Oct. The vet just called and said he was + for Lyme, but that they think he may also have a lesion in his spinal cord! One bad thing to take my mind off another. Thanks for listening. Good luck. By the way, what is the other balloon procedure? Also, I didn't know Palter doesn't use a balloon. I think he and Isaacson may be buddies.
