Guest guest
Alison, I really understand. my miserable flare ups have been after I had my babies....this last one for 2 wks now (Demetrius is 5 weeks old). I am hoping that without the stress/hormones/etc of pregnancy it will " go away " for awhile until I get on a good regimen. It is odd though I was pregnant with my 3rd child and got symptoms WHILE pregnant (which was miserable since I could not take anything) then it continued after I had her......I had another daughter a few years later (15 months old now) and never had a bad problem (occasional pains), this last pregnancy 5.5 weeks postpartum I have been miserable for 2 + weeks now.....I am thinking it is the stress of being sick (had flu, upper respiratory and a GI problem, yes all in the past few weeks) in combo with a surgery/birth of a child that has caused this new flare up of pain.... anyway, welcome to the group, I also " may have RA " we did not get a full dx since I could not afford to get the test done last time.....I now am working on getting a doc, getting something done.....it is good to see others who are also in my boat, it makes it easier to know I am not alone. amber **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. I THANK GOD EVERY DAY FOR GIVING ME ANOTHER DAY TO DEAL & to keep up with my 11yr.old daughter, alyssa!!!! as for questions, you started right.blood work will tell you several things(red & white blood cell count, liver function, inflamation)etc.i WISH YOU LUCK!! god bless,melyndagamez@...>3/22/08 9:45p.m.central [ ] may have RA Hello I am 39 and have two gorgeous 7 month boys. However as I suspect many people here did I have developed symptoms of RA 3 months after they were born. My grandmother had v bad RA so there is a family history. I have had bloods taken and am waiting for the results in 2 weeks time. I wanted to know of there were any questions or matters that you experts think it important to discuss with my GP if the diagnosis comes back positive. I live in UK so any UK based advice welcome as well. I hope I will get referred to a rheumatologist and if not I think I should insist on it. Though my GP is very good and I am sure he will want to do the best for me. Also are there any supplements that people have had success with e.g. glucosamine, shondritin, omega oils, etc. Unfortunately due to a history of stomach ulcers I cannot take NSAIDs so ibuprofen is out of the question for me, so not sure wht they will do about that. My symptoms started 3 months post partum, pain in my feet after resting or sleepinf which goes with use of the feet. this then moved onto ankle pain, finger pain and wrist pain. Anyway I am trying not to think about how bad it could get and am just enjoying being with my little lovely boys. But a bit of knowledge at this early stge is important so I am trying to educate myself, so any advice appreciated. thanks Alison ------------------------------------
