Guest guest
Hi Gang, I just wanted to share a problem I had Monday. I had the day off and was trying to get some sewing in. I needed to cut some strips for a quilt I was making and was using a rotary cutter. I'm not sure what I did, but while cutting a straight line using a ruler, I vered off course and ended up almost slicing the side of my finger off. Yike! Ended up in the ER getting my finger stitched back up. Fortunately I won't lose any functionality in the long run. I was surprised at how it hit me physically though. I went home in a daze, slept all night and had a terrible time driving in to work the next day. After a couple of hours, I went home and slept from noon to 7:30. Got up, got something to drink and went back to bed at 8:30 and slept the entire night. I'm not sure if my RA was a factor in cutting my finger - that could be just plain old inattention. What really surprised me was how my body reacted to the injury. I guess having RA makes it really hard to bounce back. From now on, I'll be useing a protective glove when using the rotary cutter. Take care! Meg in MO
