Guest guest
Hi, I'm new here, although I've been lurking for a while. I have RA as a result of chronic lyme disease. I'm in a pretty good place now, off the abx and focusing on the RA. I only take Enbrel right now. It started off like a miracle drug, I felt better immediately. But recently it seems to be losing it's effectiveness. But I'm not sure if this is the Enbrel or the fact that my diet has been really awful! I was advised not to eat wheat, dairy, sugar, corn, soy, nightshades, etc. I did this for a while but I got frustrated and HUNGRY and gave up, eating whatever I feel like. So now I'm trying to backtrack and figure out if everything affects me, or just some things. (My doc says I have a high pain threshhold, so it's hard for me to gauge what is going on) My question is, how long does it take after eating something that is " bad for you " for any increase in pain to appear? Is this consistent with everybody?? Does it last for a set period of time?? I think that if I drink hot chocolate I can feel it in my hands and wrists soon after I have it, but maybe that's a coincidence. I'm trying to avoid heavy-duty chocolate candy and bread products. Are these dumb questions?! Sorry if they are, I'm grouchy and I HATE being told not to eat something!! L.
