Guest guest
I haven't worn them, but Skecher's is making some cute shoes. The soles are similar to sneakers, but the tops look like dressy flats. I've seen them @ Famous Footwear for around $50. -$60. They aren't heels, but they are cute. They have several variations. laurenrosepeters <laurenrosepeters@...> wrote: I am just getting ready to go back to work (in the " real world " )I am 25, and love to look professional and put-together. Guest guest
I agree with the Skecher's idea. They are the only sneakers I can wear, and I just bought a pair of the flats they came out with. I got ones that don't look like sneakers, are very nicely made, and also still have the support Skecher's sneakers give me, but with cross straps. There are many styles and colors. I am thrilled that they came out with these as I have only worn Skecher's sneakers for years. Everything else hurts my knees and ankles and feet. Also, Merrell makes great leather casual shoes. My bad feet predate my RA and I can't wear heels or " girl " shoes LOL. Some like Rockport but they don't work for me. You got to try things on, everyone really fits differently so different brands will work best for you. I absolutely ADORE my MBTs but they are pricy. Guest guest
hi my podiatrist recommends a number of sneakers as good for feet and knees....New Balance, Asics, etc He also recommends Easy Spirit...and they make both sneakers and foot/knee friendly shoes good luck going out in the real world---I have been thinking about it .....and then talking myself out of it for *years* ! ! nancy
Guest guest
- I actually do better in some heels than sneakers many times. I absolutely love Dansko shoes and boots. They are very pricey, but are well-made, and pretty. They have nice thick heels that support me very well. I can do a 2 inch heel in these, and walk. I do alternate flat and heel shoes, just to avoid stiffness. I am overweight and have amazingly bad balance. If I don't fall in them, no one will. They also do wide sizes, which helps if you are, say, size 9 duck ;-) Also, I have a pair of Reiker boots- they are also very good, but the tops (ankle) are snug and stretchy- it took me a bit to get used to, but as my ankles are weak, now I love them as well. Once you get a good sizing (I got my first danskos from an equestrian shop), look at www.zappos.com- shipping is free both ways, so you can try all the stuff you want at home, and not pay shipping on returns. Congratulations on the new job! Guest guest
as for shoes, I where boots, the work boots for men, they seem to support my ankles much better. I also us gel inserts which really seem to make things much better. I can't wear dress shoes so I find things that I can wear with them for dressing for an interview and such. I have weak ankles and RA in the joints of them. I get that crunch feeling in them all the time and they are constantly popping. Guest guest
Yeah I was considering going to SAS and seeing if they have anything even close to stylish. I tried my bosses on (she in her 70's) and the were really comfortable. Arn't most of them open toe though? Maybe they have a website? Anyone know what SAS stands for? Also thanks to everyone for your comments and THANKS to Sketchers.... that is all I wear is there little sneaker " esque " maryjanes. I love them, But I need something a little more professional, unfortunately:( Also anyone else notices their shoe size go up? Mine went up from a 8- 1/2 to now I am squeezing into a 10. Guest guest
Hi, My podiatrist has always recomended New Balance shoes. That's all I've wore for years. I used to wear a 91/2 4E in the mens sizes, but have recently went to a men's 11 4E because of a overlapping toe. I was thinking about trying the Skecher's athletic shoes. Has anyone wore New Balance and Skecher's? And what is your comparison of the two brands? I went to The Shoe Dept. yesterday but they didn't carry many of the Skecher's in the men's sizes. Thanks. Guest guest
Lori, I'm with you. I have New Balance Sneakers too and I just about live in them. I got the ones with the velcro closures so when my feet are swollen it's easier to close them than to relace. I would recommend them as well. sharon in NJ > > Hi Pam! > I wear my New Balance sneakers 24/7. I've never tried Sketcher's before, but I do highly recommend the New Balance. I have a ton of problems with my feet, as well as the RA, and the sneakers are really the only thing I can wear that do not aggravate my feet. > HTH, > Lori > http://home.comcast.net/~queenstitcher/ > http://stitchingqueen.multiply.com > > > > > >
