New LBD Book: " Relentless Goodbye " by Ginnie Horst Burkholder

Ginnie Horst Burkholder was only in her 40s when she first felt that something

wasn't right with her husband . When had difficulty sleeping and

performing tasks that

once were second nature, they started looking for answers. She describes both

the path to diagnosis and the ensuing journey in her book, Relentless Goodbye:

Grief and Love in the Shadow of Dementia.

This is one book that I haven't already purchased. After just reading the first

chapter online, I felt that I wanted to go hug the author as the words had so

much meaning. As I am in early stages, I find myself trying to memorize the good

moments we still have. I block out his screams of the night and the look of

terror too often in his eyes. Thanks for suggesting a new book, or rather new

friend.

My dream is to someday write a book of my own.I currently write a blog which

might be to benefit others but is more a catharsis for myself. You can check it
