Guest guest
Lou, I hope they get to the bottom of this. Here is a group of people have serious complications post op gastric bypass or any surgical weightloss procedure. I would strongly recommend that you visit it and read the files section. save or print out all the info. The group is an excellent group. Even though I am a lapband and I have had no complications or issues I still read it. Its good to know info. There are people dying from complications post op...many the problems do not appear until they get 5or more years out from their surgery. Ihave a friend that was shot 3 times in the chest and stomach....and I gave her all the info as she is now 5 yrs since this happened. Her docs were amazed and never thought of her as having the same issues with malabsorption and bowels not functioning properly until she brought it to their attention. Now she is getting the appropriate labwork, vitamins and suppliments that she needs. She has depleted iron and calcium stores and is also in trouble...but now on suppliments that they are tayloring to her needs. Her gastro doc also told her that her bowels do not function normal and that they are very twisted and spastic. So the chances of a bowel obstruction are a real issue for her which is also making her malabsorption even worst. Please read this site. OSSG-gone_wrong...its also a group.
