Guest guest
You will be pleased to know that some of your lab work can aid in a RA diagnosis. While bloodwork does help the process, there are many seronegative RA patients. You would think RA factor would have been included, but hey, I am not a doctor It does look like they are at least looking into the realm of autoimmune disorders and ruling out diseases that are similar to them. With your doctor you need to discuss the impact this pain is causing you. How long has this been going on for? What could you do before that you cannot do now? How have you had to modify your life? Do you have to take dose after dose of Tylenol to semi-function? Is it causing sleep disruption? Are you fatigued? Is it causing problems with concentration or work performance? Telling them you hurt is relative as far as they are concerned. However, you need to find focus on what is bothering you the most. Many doctors (but hopefully you have a compassionate, thorough one) don't want to hear your life story. And truthfully if you have a laundry list of things it is overwhelming to fix them all at once. Good luck! How do i go in there and describe these problems to the doctors? i do nto want to just say, i think i have rheumtoid arthritis.....but i am not sure how to describe all this to them. What is the word to describe that awful aching, odd i got to shake my leg while lying in bed feeling that comes from my feet at night ?? how to make him understand even though i look fine it takes me 5 to 10 minutes in the am to get up out of bed (not dressed or anything else, just up)?? how do i not appear to be that healthy looking person that is looking for something else but really show the doctor how miserable i am??? on top of it all i have a bad cold, i feel like i got to cough up a lung, THEN yesterday i went to the dentist and i have 2 teeth that are worthless either needs pulled or a root canel with caps (which i cannot afford) plus about 6 more cavities to fill....the dentist cannot explain why my teeth are rotting at a fast pace. i swear i look at my teeth one day and then a few days later there is a big hole........they just rot away at a speedy rate. i had my blood drawn yesterday from the doc who gave me the lyrica and did the nerve study test thing...... i noticed there was no RA labs. do you think he is not looking that direction??? he ordered a cmp, cbc, lyme, lupus, folic acid, b12 level and ana...i do not think i have the lupus symptoms as much as RA symptoms. why wouldn't he do other test too? anyway i am griping enough....any advice for the doctor would be great !!!! --------------------------------- You rock. Guest guest
I really have not had a problem with dry mouth, it does not seem dry. I am a sugar addict I am trying to brush my teeth 3 or more times a day now and I got some enamel rinse stuff to help protect what is left.... amber **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Guest guest
I wonder if that might be......I do not notice my mouth being dry but maybe I am use to it now. I have a lot of " rotting " up near the gum line, I was thinking some kind of gum disease but the dentist said no, gums look fine, she could not explain it besides the fact I drink a lot of soda and might not be brushing enough (which I know I am).... I might have to hunt that tooth paste down and see if it helps, sure cannot hurt at this point. thanks for the advice **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides. Guest guest
i have the sjorgens syndrome (dry mouth, eye, etc) sensodyne has just came out with a toothpaste with biotene. this is especially for sjorgens patients. works wonders.....the sjorgens causes decay in the teeth. there is not enough saliva to clean well. i have just had to have 18 porcelain inlays on 18 teeth to save them. they were breaking due to dryness. i have found that a cool mist humidifier in most rooms helps your saliva and teeth. rita Re: [ ] tired of being frustrated I really have not had a problem with dry mouth, it does not seem dry. I am a soapmaker and the topic kept coming up and despite taking good care of me teeth they aren't in good shape, so I figured I'd try it. I swear my teeth feel cleaner, look brighter, and I KNOW they are much less sensitive. I have been using the tooth soap about a month and can't belive how much my dental health has improved. I have had to use sensitive toothpaste for several years and have never been able to get off it until I used the tooth soap. I was also starting to have problems with my gums, my gums were bleeding every time I brushed. I was sort of at wits end and so I tried it more out of desperation but I like it so much I will never use commercial toothpaste again. My gums aren't bleeding anymore! I have had 2 root canals already and expect more, but my gum health had me worried, so this is a good thing indeed. There is a lot of glyverin in commercial toothpaste that supposedly helps prevent the proper re-enamalization of your teeth. Another benifit is that I don't get that " morning mouth " ickiness anymore. If you google tooth soap you will find sellers and more info you can read on, if you are interested. I can't recommend any in particular; as I said, I make soap so I just made my own (and no, I don't sell LOL!).

Guest guest
melynda, I am still frustrated but better today, the doctor I saw yesterday was very helpful. He is unsure of what it is but says he will do everything he can to help me find out what is going on with me. He ordered a bunch of lab test and referred me to a rheum doc then set a follow up with me in a few weeks to see if everything is going as planned. I was impressed with my 2 HOUR visit. The NP took a great history and both seemed honestly interested in my problem. they even LOOKED at my feet. the labs they ordered were :cbc, cmp, lipid (have cholesterol family hx) freet4, tsh (just a check), ana, RA, hsCRP, WSR, CKMB, 25 hydroxy vit D.....I am excited to see them doing SOMETHING....some of these are just well check test but they are checking some inflammatory labs in that. they said they would send them over to the rheum doc so she will not have to do them again and wait on results. today is a good day, only took 5 minutes to get out of bed and the baby slept for 7 hours last night !! amber **************Planning your summer road trip?
