Guest guest
My name is holly. I'm a few weeks away from 30. i was diagnosed with RA shortly after giving birth to my 2nd child last year. The pain was so severe i could hardly lift my baby when she woke up during the night. i was treated with mtx for about 3 months. and the stiffness finally disappeared. 3 months later it is returning in my wrists and fingers...i was hoping it was in remission. I'm a little hesitant to have to go back to mtx. i started taking celebrex in the morning...helps a little. i just need some support...would love to communicate with another person with RA. Guest guest
Hi Holly, Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. There are tons of resources online, I use www.google.com to find most of them and www.fightarthritis.info . Groups like this one are also very helpful. Guest guest
If the MTX agrees with you, you'll probably be on it for life, although the dose may go down, just be sure NOT to get pregnant on it. My RA doc always says that you can't go off and on it, it usually won't work after doing that. I've been on it for 8 years now, not happy about it but I know it's a necessary evil. Guest guest
Welcome Holly! You have come to the right place to connect with caring, supportive, knowledgeable individuals with RA! I was diagnosed with FMS at age 30, and the RA came a couple of years later. I am 36 now. I haven't had the mtx yet, it will be the next step in my treatment plan. Currently, I take Plaquenil and 3000mgs of Sulfasalazine. Maybe there is another drug that the rheumatologist can try for you besides the mtx! Good luck and welcome to the group:) --- holbu12 <holbu12@...> wrote: > My name is holly.
