Thanks, Judy. Mom didn't have it easy. This disease isn't easy. It's so much

more than anyone not having witnessed it could possibly imagine. However, I am

totally convinced that having good doctors who are not only knowledgeable but

willing to listen makes all the difference.

Hospice advised me to be prepared early in January. They didn't tell Mom,

though, because she is still with us. Not doing well at all but still here...

As poorly as she is doing, though, she can still respond by turning her head

towards the person speaking to her. At times, I feel a squeeze from her hand

but I'm never sure if it's a contraction that is voluntary or due to the

Parkinsonism. I just pray that she remains comfortable.

Best wishes,

Lynn in Florida

Dear Lynn,

My thoughts and heart are with you. When my Mom can manage to get a word or two

out, it is like a precious gift to us.

Thank you, Helene. Yes, even the smallest of things become very precious to us,

don't they? My best wishes to you and your mother, too.

Regards,

Lynn in Florida

P.S. Mom is a true blue Manhattanite! Always has been...always will be. It's

part of her genetics, I suspect. :-)
