Guest guest
I don't know if I am using this term correctly, but I am wondering what experience everyone has had with it. Not in terms of AS the disorder, but ankylosis of a joint. I am on 15 mg Mobic and I am mostly pain free, although there is a lot I can't do and I have a burning pain periodically. But I can work, my pain is " under control. " Despite this, and the fact I only seem to have serious problems in one joint, I am about to go on MTX and plaquenil, because the range of motion in my wrist is down to 15-20 degrees each way. This started mid- November so it's progressed rapidly. The doctor said the loss of ROM may be permanent. Even when I got a steroid shot, it wasn't better, so I'm hoping MTX may help, or at least keep this from continuing in this joint or spreading to others. I just found out that my uncle (who I don't see often) has RA in his hands, but he is just on Celebrex. Anyway, still just coming to grips with how serious this is, despite the fact that my pain is under control, the disease is not. I'm afraid the MTX may cause more side effects and days off work that what is going on now (although the pain/sweliling without Mobic were completely debilitating).
