Guest guest
I posted here a couple of weeks ago. I also recieved amazing support, helpful advice and hope from many members here. I want to thank you all. I have since began to come to terms with my newly diagnosed RA. This site, my friends, mother, and significant other have been extremely helpful. Although the doctors I've seen have not been even a smidge as positive as everyone here, I have not given up hope. It seems as though now they believe that I've had this for years, but that the medicines I've been taking for uncontrolled seizures have masked it. Everything from Phenobarbitol, Topiramate, Neurontin, Depakote, Zonegran, Lyrica, and so on. I think they have all had something to do with nerve pain or chronic pain treatments in addition to anticonvulsant properties. I was not quite sure what to do with this information or if anything could be done at all. The one thing that did occur to me was that I had no major symptoms until recently(chronic pain excluded). So the question I posed to my doctors old and new alike was " What if instead of masking the RA, the previous medications treated it? " I managed to baffle 4 docs with one little bitty theory. Granted, I never got an answer, but I have to admit, that felt really good. I just had to share it.
