Guest guest
I'm so sick, got a couch, runny nose etc. well now unemployment is starting to give me a hard time, along with the job that terminated me that I'm trying to get it from. You would think they would just fess up and let things go since they were the ones at fault for letting me go in the first place. I'm so tired of being sick and tired of all the crap that goes on within " family " agencies. I have been working my butt off all my life and all I want is to find a decent employer who understands what it is like to not only have a family but also have a disability. I am ready to scream that I as a person have rights just like the next person. After putting in about 100 apps I finally get interviews and most have led to no return calls or the pay isn't suffient enough to pay the bills. I have tried to reduce them but that isn't easy with 2 children under the age of 5. my bills total about $1500 a month. Heck if i got the damn unemployment that would only cover $800 of it. I don't even know where the rest of it would come from. Heck I haven't even made April's rent yet and got 2 more days to get it to the office. I'm tired, I'm hurting, and I can no longer take the MTX at this point which wasn't working anyways. I'm on the enbrel but can't take that this week considering that I'm sick. I feel like the whole world is against me and my family and well, I wish the world would knock it off. They say stress can cause even more issues for RA, well, I'm stressed, sick and ready to tell the world were it can go. Thank you for reading my rant. Guest guest
, I do not know what state you live you. But each state as a vocational rehab office or some state supported agency that helps those with disabilities that want to work find suitable work within the confines of their disability. I am not sure what it is called in your state here in Texas its DARS and it was know as Texas Vocational Rehab. You would be surprised as there are many government jobs as well as contracts that suppliers employees to the many state and federal government agencies that ONLY hire people with disabilities. I have been working with such an agency and so far I am pleased with the results. Good luck Toni **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides. Guest guest
I have come in late on this discussion, but for anyone searching for a vocational program most United Ways have some form of Information and Referral service that can provide information about local programs. Simply call your local United Way and tell them what you are looking for- even if they do not have a formal I & R service (some of the smaller ones do not), they always have a listing of local & state organizations. United Way's Information and Referral Service is a wonderful resource for all sorts of things- from locating someone to build a handicapped ramp to finding someone who provides volunteers to transport folks to medical appointments. If the United Way doesn't offer a service, it can usually point you in the right direction for finding someone who does. ~Marie
