I’ve never had anyone ask that question of me “do you eat that? (cake). I

don’t like cake. GIVE ME A BACK OF CHIPS!!!! PLAIN OL’E SALTY GREASY CHIPS!

With a cold beer and a bowl of hot salsa.

Seriously, I’ve had that question asked of me the once a month that I indulge

in a bag of chips with salt and black pepper.

Well, I get a lot of positive feedback from my weekly messages, and I have fun

writing them. I guess the ones that don’t like them can simply hit the delete

button, don’t you think?

As far as eating something not as healthy occasionally, the other day I accepted

a piece of chocolate cake they offered me at the kitchen, but obviously is what

I do most of the time that is more evident. Some coworkers come to me and say

that they do admire how I eat and take care of myself though. I do enjoy eating

healthy and I think people need to respect that too. I don’t push that people

eat like I do.

People can be food police to us Dietitians too. Have you ever had anybody saying

to you when you are at a party eating a piece of cake: “do you eat that?†I

have. Sometimes, I think they pay attention to what we eat even more than we pay

attention to what they eat.

No wonder - your boss request made you the food police. Order Pizza for the

next staff meeting and make sure everybody sees you eat 2 (!!) slices and make

sure you stay long enough for them see you dont run to throw up in the

toilet.and if anyone will comment on that ( " you eat pizza " ?) - let then know

that 2 slices of pizza once in a while is definitely a part of a healthy diet.I

refuse to be the food police. Also people don't like to get health tips when

they don't ask for it. It is true for many advices. I don't give any unless I am

asked.Maybe you should cut the massages down to once a month or just before the

holidays, when ppl want to try to avoid overeating (and not always being

successful).

Sadly, when you read the details on a LOT of " red meat " research, you'll

learn that the research classifies venison, bison and elk EXACTLY the same as

bacon, bologna and hotdogs.

Give me a break! I may like my lean grass-fed beef, venison and elk, but

don't lump my diet in with people that routinely eat bologna and hotdogs

(like my brother-in-law; he actually LIKES that stuff) and then try to tell us

that " all red meat is bad for you. " sigh. . .

And, I think pork is " red meat " for research, despite the advertisments. .

.. Oh, and my husband likes to remind (surprise) people with, " Where I live,

you know what they call mountain lion? --- The 'other white meat'. "
