Guest guest Posted February 21, 2007 Report Share Posted February 21, 2007 Dear forum, Andhra pradesh State AIDS Control society(APSACS), Hyderabad in collaboration with Andhra pradesh Academy of Rural Development (APARD) Hyderabad designed the programme called " Traing programme of AASHA Mitras. " In the first level around 80 persons from all districts were trained for 5 days. Out of them 70 members choosen from Para Medical staff working in the National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) and remaing 10 from PLHIV networks. These 80 members were designated as State Resource Persons (SRPs). In the second level 25 persons from each distric were trained for 3 days. They were designated as District Resource Persons(DRPs). The team of 25 members comprises of 10 members from NLEP .5 members from women Self Help Groups (SHG), 5 members from Nehru Yuvak kendra (NYK) and 5 members from Positive networks. In the third level these DRPs members with the help of SRPs are goining train 40 women and 40 male youth from each mandal (sub district).Thease persons(AASHA Mitras) are going to be trained for 3 days on the issues of HIV/AIDS with special emphasis on the Behavioral change for the prevention of HIV. Our Project Director (APSACS), Sri.Ashok Kumar,IAS has inspired the people of the state with 2 novel programmes called' " Be Bold Campaign " and 0/07. We hope these programme can raise the awareness level and bring behavioral change in the rural masses of our state for the stabilizing the epidemic of HIV.
