I read that the periods brought on by pregesterone are heavier (hard to believe - I already have nasty ones) and more painful. Goody. I'd kind of enjoy not having periods at all - but if it meant staying on these, I'm not so sure...... I did get a call from the doctor - the thyroid and FSH levels are normal - meaning I'm not in menopause, and my thyroid is behaving. So there's still the question of why my ovary has gone postal on me..... I guess I wait until the ultrasound to see if I'm growing something. All of which makes me miss my Mom even more - I sure could use her " ever-present " ear right about now! Terri

Guest guest
Progesterone made my periods more manageable and less painful, but not a lot less. I think it is when you go off progesterone that you can bleed really really heavily. That also was true for me. I suffered horribly with my periods for ten years; all the doctors said it was because of small fibroids. I went to a fibroid specialist to have a uterine artery embolization and he said they were too small to be causing me all that trouble and his surgery wouldn't work. He referred me to a gyn guy that did uterine ablation. I had it done last year, it was a cinch surgery and I haven't had a period since. I kiss that guy's feet every time I see him, well figuratively at least. I call him my miracle worker. No pain, no period, no menopause yet. It's great. I highly recommend it for people who have extremely heavy painful periods and need them to stop. It was affecting the quality of my life for years. corky Re: OT - hormones - lady type stuff..... > In a message dated 12/22/2000 4:42:37 PM Pacific Standard Time, > RobinPurtee@... writes: > > << My Dr said if you take them every day, never take a day off from them that > many women don't get periods......... > >> > > That part doesn't seem bad at all. Guest guest
Well, I haven't had periods in about 2 years anyway - except for one 'stress' period after my foot surgery. My FSH came back totally menopausal. You have to be without periods for at least a year - and have it be because of menopause - before you can take them everyday and not have periods. Guest guest
Is uterine ablatomy when they remove the inner lining of the uterus - I think it's called an endometriotomy?

Guest guest
It was actually called endometrial ablation and they actually burned the inner lining. It was absolutely painless (of course, I had general anesthesia). I was completely recovered in a day. No cramps, no nothing. and no more bleeding, thank you. Yup, i call him my miracle worker. The process has been around for a while, but there is a new way of doing it with more success, less risk, and that's what I had. Yup, a miracle. corky Re: OT - hormones - lady type stuff..... > Is uterine ablatomy when they remove the inner lining of the uterus - I > think it's called an endometriotomy? > > > > Please visit our homepage at http://members.xoom.com/AChallengers > You will find information, recipes, before and after pictures. > To contact the list owner please send mail to lindag@... > Visit our 2000 Train Tour Site - http://www.brunnet.net/k & l/web_site_train_tour/actraintour.htm > > >
