Embarrassing Problem

Many people may find this difficult to understand in these times, but I did

not have indoor plumbing until I went to college and then got married. Mom

and Dad had to wait until 4 of the 6 kids were out of the house before they

could afford to build a new house on the same property. That was 24 years

ago. I was 30 and expecting my 3rd child when my now deceased brother and I

put in the new carpeting. It's amazing when I think how difficult it must

have been for Mom to do laundry and wash us kids for those years. During

the winter, we had a " pot " just inside the back door in an entry way. It

was emptied daily. I am thankful that was NOT one of my chores. I did have

to pump the water and put it in the large copper pot on the space heater in

the kitchen, though. I guess, of all the modern conveniences we have, the

one I would miss most is running water in the house.

Yes, the area was rural, but many people around us had running water and

indoor plumbing. We were just po folks. And this was just 30 years ago.

Aw, shucks, . People already think I'm a pervert. What would a little

thing like this do while driving down the road. My only concern would be

how to get it emptied while on a long trip if we pulled into a Rest Stop.

That thing would be obvious. I guess I could tell everyone it's my urine

sample and I passed, so I have to get rid of the excess.

I've found emptying it to be a piece of cake Mike, although I don't live

in the big, big smoke - more like in the little, big smoke. Just find a

quiet spot somewhere (preferably grassed), pull over, stay in your car

seat, open the door a bit and empty it out. No drama. Unless you'd

drunk heaps of fluids and were emulating Niagara Falls you'd have plenty

of time to find a suitable place.
