Job Title Clinical Specialist - Therapeutic Nutrition - Can work from

anywhere in the USA!

Job Description The primary function of the Clinical Specialist position

is to engage with Healthcare Professionals with the objective of driving

sales through inspiring change in clinical practice within key and

strategic accounts. The Clinical Specialist is a member of the Region

Accounts Team and serves as the clinical expert relative to Abbott

Nutrition adult products including Ensure and other Therapeutic

Nutrition brands. The Clinical Specialist will actively support Field

Sales initiatives and share the team's responsibilities to deliver upon

designated sales goals and objectives.

The Clinical Specialist is a field based individual who will augment

selling efforts of the Region Accounts Team and broader Region in which

the position is located. The Clinical Specialist will interface with key

healthcare customers and the sales force to drive strategies and

programs and to provide technical education as relates to benefits of

Abbott Nutrition products and concepts.

Day to day activities may include but are not limited to the following:

Conduct clinical based scientific presentations to Health Care

Professionals with the intent of educating customers regarding the

benefits of Therapeutic Nutrition and gaining commitments to incorporate

Abbott Nutrition brands into patient care protocols.

Build and leverage relationships with key decision makers within

targeted accounts to maintain and grow business.

Effectively engage with health care customers, key opinion leaders and

sales force to drive educational messaging on major adult nutrition

brand initiatives across the portfolio

Utilize promotional and non-promotional materials and clinical studies

to effectively communicate the clinical and scientific benefits of

Abbott Nutrition products to targeted healthcare professionals

Prepare and deliver nutrition science related information and lectures

to customers, field sales force and external key opinion leaders to

support business strategy

Stay current on standards of care and nutrition practice as it relates

to Abbott Nutrition brands and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current

scientific literature in the field in order to apply knowledge to Abbott

Nutrition brands for both driving the existing business as well as new

innovation across Abbott Nutrition platforms

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive products, sales messages,

key competitive features and benefits and how this relates to AN line of

products

Attend key conferences or meetings for expanded educational

opportunities as well as networking with key opinion leaders and other

professionals in the field

Skills/Experience Requirements

Clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurse or

Pharmacist within the Acute Care Hospital setting is a must.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to

interface with highly clinical customers as well as strong presentation

skills are required.

Proven ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively in a team

environment on multiple tasks is required

Ability to work constructively and decisively with external and internal

customers and key opinion leaders is required

A strong understanding of Integrated Health System dynamics with acute

care focus is required.

Ideally the candidate would have sales experience and / or knowledge of

marketing concepts.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required (Master's or PhD preferred), Registered

Dietician, Nurse Practitioner preferred.
