Legs- possibly OT

I have been having a new and strange problem for the past week or so- my legs

ache and become very tired by late afternoon.

I don't work outside of the home, but this time of year (breeding season) I

spend 3-5 hours a day on my feet working on my birds- I breed canaries.

I have getting up and down the stairs all year without any difficulty other than

the problems with my knee joint that comes and goes. About a week ago, I began

to notice that my legs are aching my the end of the evening and walking up the

stairs they feel weak. It is a muscular type of pain rather than in the joint. I

also have burning, shooting sensations occasionally. Sometimes the last trip up

the stairs is almost impossible and I am making it up only by pulling myself up

using the handrail.

This afternoon I noticed sitting on a hard chair that the back of my leg was

hurting- a little investigation revealed that a number of veins in both legs are

tender to the touch. I do not have any apparent varicose veins, which is what I

thought of first.

I did notice this morning when having blood drawn that my artery hurt more than

the ordinary needle poke. Several years ago I did have a number of positive

blood tests for vasculitis (without symptoms), but nothing recently. I have also

been having problems with high blood pressure recently, which is also new.

I have an appointment with my primary doc on Thursday, but I wonder what this

could be- has anyone else ever had this sort of thing?
