Guest guest
Weight Watchers can help her figure out how many points are in each food. They have tons of tools for this... the internet, calculators, books, etc. My guess is the reason that she was referred to you is because her dx's are out of their realm of expertise. I would just focus on educating her on what she can/can not eat due to her DM and HD and let them focus on the points and weight loss. She'll have to combine the two educations to meet her goals. Or either just take over the entire process. But instead of doing the WW's way, educate her on weight loss your way. I would think that WW's is copyrighted or something along those lines and that you can not ethically educate her on that anyway... but I'm not sure. She signed up for weight watchers. She has no idea what to do and asked WW for help, due to being on HD/DM and they referred her to me! I have never done WW and have no idea what these points mean. Does anyone know how many calories are in 1 point? She gave me a package of crackers that she usually eats after treatment that has 190 Kcal and wants to know how many points this is. Does anyone have any experience with weight watchers/HD/ DM diet? Please feel free to email me privately. Guest guest
Weight Watchers is a great plan and many people have been successful with the program. They have a points calculator that is a great tool for helping her calculate the points value of a food item. My recommendation is to give her a list of foods to avoid so she knows not to bother with those then make a list of most commonly consumed foods and put the point value on them so she has a reference. Let the lecturer help her calculate foods and you just educate with her foods allowed and to avoid. RE: weight watchers Weight Watchers can help her figure out how many points are in each food.
