Hi All,

This is an interesting topic. I have maintained a reasonable weight for my

height for some time though was overweight as a child and also going through my

dietetic program and internship. I have had some clients mention that they

were happy I am at a good weight because I am more believable in what I

recommend. I have had others say that I can't understand their challenges

because I am at a good weight. I give a little of my weight history and then

focus on exploring their concerns. I often say that even with my dealing with

my own overweight, my concerns aren't necessarily the concerns they are facing.

When I was working in a hospital in out-patient department, people I had just

counseled would often be next to me in line at the cafeteria at lunch. When

they realized I was next to them, they would immediately look at their tray to

re-check what they had just selected and then all eyes would go to my plate.

I also had a time that I was at a co-workers' house, her sister asked her if it

was okay if she baked cookies while I was there. I think these comments do go

with being an RD and give us the opportunity to challenge misperceptions.

Question on red meat

Hello guys,

I was looking for a source that classifies what meats are considered red. Does

anybody know of one? Can you confirm if they are beef, pork, veal and lamb?

Anything else? Thank you!
