Hi Lori,

I cannot imagine taking all 8 pills at once, but it just proves that we all

have our own ways of taking mtx....what works for one may not work for the

other...but it is a med we need...kind of a love hate relationship!

The MTX makes me nauseated as well. In order to avoid this, I take it right

before bed so that I can sleep through the worst of the side effects. Every

once in awhile the nausea will linger for a couple days.

Ihave taken methotrexate now two times. 4 pills on weds. once a week with

folic acid every day. I also am still taking prednisone every day. I was on

salphasalasine (4 pills every day) the rumy didn't think I was doing as good as

I should so she switched my med. I guess I really don't understand that. I

think I was doing better on the salpasalasine. I get sick to my stomach every

wk when I take the MTX. Is this normal? I also have been haveing more like a

soarness in my feet (left foot only) and my shoulders and my wrist and hands.

My hands and fingers have always been my problem more than anything else. I

am so tired all the time. and have been having rectum spasm ( a couple times,

not every day) I have diareah alot. Are these normal things to have with

everything else or not? some times I just feel like it will never end. I read

your comments and it seems like some of you are doing real well. Don't get

me wrong, there are days when I feel better than others but I am

so different over all than before.When you are in remission does that mean

you are back to narmal or just better with little pain? I am soar every day

and sometimes it is hard to move.I am back to being stiff every morn also with

i too never have a day that i am ok. somedays i can function these i call my

good days. by functioning i mean cooking a meal, doing laundry, running short

errands,etc. i cannot do any mopping on good or bad days, no mowing, etc.

unfortunately they are those of us with SEVERE cases of ra which means our good

days we feel like me might just make it another day, the bad days we are sure we

are dying soon, maybe the next minute. not a joke just the truth. the nurse at

my rheumy the other day said she quit an oncology office because of the

depression but thinks the RA is worse than cancer because at least cancer starts

off just affecting one place and there is hope that remission will be years not

just hours or days. rita
