Guest guest
I am sorry to hear u had the reaction, I was just reading up on it this a.m, as I had earlier mentioned don't it is my young son on it, and don't either like to think of side effects, when I first heard of them and what they checked him for, that put me in a panic attack! I surely would have one to while being infused, as I have fears of side effects on everything and also cause myself to panic. But in the book I am reading and reading about that Tx it did say it can cause trouble breathing, heavy chest and some others, it also said that this did usually occur with patients that take less Tx farther apart then closer, my son goes every 6wks!, and it said they found persons who may only go every couple mo's to suffer those types of sides, but where able to go back on it at closer intervals, weird huh? I wish those contiplating this that is causes no sides and works as well as it has for the people who I know use it. Sharon " S. Pruitt " <seriouslysanibel@...> wrote: Yes and no. I only had 2 infusions. It took my RD at the time almost 2 years to talk me into taking Remicade. I finally caved out of desperation and had problems during my infusion...trouble catching my breath. They thought it might have been panic attacks, which I have been known to do. Aftwards I felt GREAT! I could " jog " up the stairs, it was a God send. Then the second infusion, I had the same trouble with my breathing. Mind you I was ready to take more of it, so it wasn't anxiety. The next morning after the second infusion, I couldn't move. I forgot the explanation, but to that point I had never been in so much pain and I wasn't going to have any more of it. When sitting during infusions, I talked with ladies who had been on it for ages. The one lady didn't have a reaction until she had been on it for 11 months, she had a horrible rash, but apparently that didn't deter her. Most have no problems. Obviously you need to be informed, but you have to realize (and I am guilty of panicking about side effects that effect .0001 of the population) that the percentage of HORRIBLE reactions are almost nill. However, they can happen. Shandi <iMarzz@...> wrote: Just wondering if any of you who have taken Remicade thought the improvement in your symptoms was worth the risks of the drug? I am awaiting insurance approval and then will be scheduled for my first dose. Thanks --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
