Kay, I don't know if it is part of the syndrome, but I know Kennedy

certainly has obsessive tendencies.

Hope the Paxil helps,

Obscessive ?Thoughts

Hello Everybody,

I'm considering going back onto Paxil because of the problem I have with

obscessive thoughts. I think I have heard some of you in the past talk about

your children having some problem with obscessiveness. Is this part of the

syndrome?

Chantelle,

My counselor and I discussed it the last time I was in there. Of course he

doesn't do the prescribing but we both feel that my regular doctor will

prescribe it at his recommendation. I know my brother used Luvox for this

for a while.

Hi Kay,

I am SO happy for you and the new relationship! Hurrah!!

But then again I don't l like to hear about all the added stress it has

caused you. Could you share why you are 'scared to death'? I met 18 yr.

ago (we met in a bar :-) Even though I had some male friends before him, he

scared me. I don't really know why. When I look back on it now, maybe I was

afraid of love?

Kay: I don't know how many of our kids suffer from OCD, but our

has. At what age did this become a problem for you? Does it come and go? Is

it worse when you're under other stress(es)? Martha

Hi Martha,

Well I think it has been a problem to some extent most of my life but

sometimes I am able to handle it better than others. I have had a lot of

depression problems in the past as well. In fact, I have a diagnosis of

major depression, recurrent. Its just been under control for a good while

now. As for the obscessive thoughts they do seem to be worse under stress,

yes. I'm not under that much stress right now most of the time except for

one thing. I'm trying to have a relationship with a guy for the first time

in over 4 years and I'm scared to death. I think that this is the stress

that is now getting to me like this.

Hi Jan,

Well I've been hurt a lot in my life. I do not like to dwell on the hurt but

it's a fact. I was married to an abuser. He hit me a lot and even tried to

kill me once. So I'm not comfortable with men. I've been divorce for a long

time now and on my own. The last time I dated we got along really well but

he dumped me for his ex-wife. So I'm just not sure about relationships

anymore. But I am trying because being alone isn't good either.

By the way, I'm not alone in actuality anymore. I now live with a family. So

that is not being alone but still its different from having a special

somebody.
