Guest guest
Hello all, does anyone have any reactive hypoglycemia patient education materials they could share or websites that might have them, sample menus, etc. rather than reinvent the wheel. Thanks in advance. Sue NOTICE: This confidential message/attachment contains information intended for a specific individual(s) and purpose. Guest guest
Most diet manuals have a Hyperinsulemia diet which is used for reative hypoglycemics. The next best thing is to do carb counting limiting carb intake to 1 gram kg to 1 gram per pound per day. This will give you a low end and a higher end range. I have also found limiting my carb intake to 100 to 150 grams a day helps. Been there done that since age 18, now pre diabetic.  Jackie Chase RD Dillingham AK To: " rd-usa " <rd-usa > Sent: Wednesday, July 27, 2011 6:36 AM Subject: reactive hypoglycemia patient education materials  Hello all, does anyone have any reactive hypoglycemia patient education materials they could share or websites that might have them, sample menus, etc. rather than reinvent the wheel. Guest guest
Don't be too quick to turn to diet unless the cause of the reactive hypoglycemia has been investigated. Celiac disease or non-celiac gluten intolerance? Tested c-peptide and a TSH to rule out endocrine origins. Graves disease? Pre-diabetes? Vitamin D adequate? (low often with celiac) Alcohol intake?
