I everyone...hope you are all doing well and flare-up free. I started

lyrica about 3 weeks ago for my fibromyalgia pain. I am taking 150 mg

bid. I have notcied that the medication makes me feel " cloudy " . (Not

like " loopy " that I tend to feel if I take any opiates), but not clear

headed. I can deal w/ that. I have gained 6 lbs in 3 weeks. When I

started taking lyrica, I started to eat healthier, eat 2 meals a day

and excerise 30 minutes vigorously everyday. (It hurts tremedously to

work out, but I figure I need to work out through the pain to avoid

the weight gain). I am already considered obese and I am scared that

this weight gain will be simular to the weight gain that I had when I

was on predisone when I was first diagnosed w/ RA 7 years ago which I

have been unable to loose.

I wanted to see if anyone else here on lyrica has had weight gain and

what you are doing to help prevent any further weight gain. I am

afraid that I will have to quit taking lyrica even though I just

started to finally feel some sort of relief of my fibromyalgia pain.

Thanks.

,

I started Lyrica in Feb 2006 and gained 15 lb over 3 weeks. I had to stop taking

it because it made me feel as if I were going to jump out of my skin. The first

week was GREAT but the 2 weeks at 150 were AWFUL and then I had to taper down

again.... I was so bummed that it did not work for me.

Lyrica is a wonderful medication. I know several people who have had dramatic,

POSITIVE results from Lyrica despite the initial weight gain. I would talk to

your doctor about it and see what he/she has to say. I know that I would have

gladly welcomed 15 lb if it would have brought me relief.
