Guest guest
Gretchen, Sorry to hear about your doc visit. None of the rheummy's here treat fibro either. They will totally ignore you..and then tell you they only treat rheumalogic conditions and fibro is NOT one of them...seek the services of pain management doc. They also do not prescribe pain meds either. They tell you to see a pain management specialist or your family doc. It is very frustrating to say the least. I finally gave up and fired all the docs...low stress seems to be the best treatment for me so far! lol As far as the NSIAD. They do not all work the same way. There are many I can not take because they cause horrible stomach pain and the risk of ulcers is too high. I take Londine XL..the extended release version of Lodine. I usually have no problems. But most of the other NSAIDS I can not take. So I would listen to your doc...and talk with your pharmacist and see what he thinks. If I have to take Lodine for more than a week I take Nexium or Prilosec OTC with it. Hope everyone is doing ok.... I just wanted to let you know about my rhemey appt today..... went in, said all my test results came out fine.. no RA {thank goodness}just osteoarthritis in my knee gave me a shot in my knee.. He asked me if I have ever been on a NSAID before.. I said yes, Voltarin, but could not take it because of constent " poop cramps " {sorry for that, but that's what it is} He said oh, and put me on Lodine.. Now, I am not a dr., but isn't that like Voltarin? I looked it up and it has the exact same sight effects.. what is going on here! If I can't take one NSAID, then why would he be giving me something like it again? And he did not mention ONE WORD about my Fibro, I asked and asked, and he ignored me! I am so sick of it! I need to find someone in my area that treats fibro..... does anyone know of anyone in Ohio? Thanks for listening! Gretchen **************It's Tax Time! Guest guest
Hi, You experience sounds very frustrating. It is possible, I think, to react to one NSAID and not another. Have you taken motrin (ibuprofen) or any other NSAID without difficulty in the past? You could check it out with your pharmacist, too. Generic Name: diclofenac (dye KLOE fen ak) Brand Names: Cataflam, Voltaren, Voltaren-XR Generic Name: etodolac Brand Name: Lodine ez __________________________________________________
